Solo web designer, web craft since the late 90s, full-time since 2014. I work with SMBs in Upper Austria and beyond. A good website should bring inquiries, stay easy to understand, and not require outside help for every small update after launch.

I'm Tom. Web craftsman from Upper Austria, building sites since the late 90s. I founded medienmacher.biz as a sole proprietorship on 8 August 2025; since then 4 delivered projects, all with a testimonial on this site.

The path was longer than the company is old: around 2000 international e-sports, player at the Electronic Sports World Convention (ESWC). From 2004, seven years as content manager at Top Ideas Marketing in Vienna, doing press work and online ad campaigns. From 2008, roughly ten years in Hagen (Germany): first content creator and manager of a daily tech and e-sports online magazine, from 2014 as a freelance web designer (site build, maintenance, SEO, social media). Back in Upper Austria since 2022, based in Nußbach in the district of Kirchdorf an der Krems.

Regional focus on Upper Austria; websites are digital though, so I work with clients across borders, throughout Germany and the EU. Whether you sit across the table or join by video makes no difference to the workflow.

This did not come from a bootcamp week. Over 20 years of web craft, much of it self-taught, every browser generation lived through. Today: WordPress, headless CMS, UX, performance and AI tooling where it genuinely improves the work. On top: two vocational qualifications at BBRZ Linz, office clerk specialising in Media & Information Technology (final exam 2024) and e-commerce clerk (final exam 2025), plus certifications from Adobe, Google, Microsoft and Meta. All listed individually.

When I'm not building, I'm writing. Short stories and creative texts. Plus gaming, audio books, podcasts, films, indie music.

Code, domain, hosting. All yours.

A site that brings inquiries and belongs to you.

  • Yours. Source code, database and credentials live on your hosting. If we part ways, you keep everything.
  • Maintain it yourself. You write text in the backend like in a normal text field. You swap images yourself. Adding a new subpage works in the editor without me touching it.
  • Grows with you. If you need a landing page, a second language or a blog next year, the module simply gets added. No rebuild from scratch.

Your work on your own site, not on a platform that may change its rules tomorrow.

  • Your design. Layout, typography and grid are built specifically for your work, not pulled from a template gallery that other artists use the same way.
  • Easy updates. Upload a photo, add a title, save. Same flow for videos and audio.
  • Robust layout. You can delete ten projects or add a hundred, the grid handles it.
